Whether you’re Irish or not, St Patrick’s Day provides the perfect excuse to throw a party, not that we need an excuse to have a good craic!
Whether you’re Irish or not, St Patrick’s Day provides the perfect excuse to throw a party, not that we need an excuse to have a good craic! With March 17th just a few weeks away now is the time to start planning your Paddy’s Day party. Follow our guide and you’ll wow your guests with great food, great drinks and great fun!
Fancy dress theme: Have your guests dress up in Irish themed clothing, for example green, white and orange clothes, shamrocks, or they could even dress as a leprechaun! Fancy dress is always fun and it makes for some really memorable photos!
Decorations: When it comes to decorating your home for a party, St Patrick’s Day is the perfect time to have a bit of fun and go all-out! Make (or buy) paper chains in green, white and orange; hang green balloons from the ceiling; and add in a decent helping of shamrocks, pots of gold, rainbows and leprechauns for a fun, Irish feel.
Entertainment: A good mixture of popular music interspersed with Irish and Celtic music will really set the fun mood of the evening. You could hold a limerick contest with prizes for the best ones, and a fancy dress parade with prizes for the best outfit.
Food: With a little green food colouring and some imagination you can alter a variety of normal foods to give them an Irish theme. Or how about making some traditional Irish food such as soda bread, barmbrack, colcannon, Irish stew, and plenty of potatoes!
Cupcakes: A tower of cupcakes decorated in green, white and orange buttercream and icing, topped with some of our St Patrick’s Day themed cake toppers work as both a great party decoration and a yummy treat to top off the Irish stew!
